425 Collins Street was part of the Street Heritage Façade Remediation Project, with completion taking place in late 2024. The project scope included conservation and restoration works to the façade, lobby upgrades and service and lighting enhancements to the exterior and interior.
The 10-storey office and hospitality building is positioned near key retail, entertainment and major transport links. It provides excellent connectivity and convenience for tenants, stakeholders and the surrounding community.
In 2025, OneEast Capital were appointed Asset Managers of 425 Collins Street.
History of 425 Collins Street
Construction took place between WW1 and WW2, with the building opening in the 1931. In 1932, upon completion, the building was awarded the Royal Victorian Institute of Architects' Street Architecture Medal. It's exterior was praised as a "fresh interpretation" of the commercial palazzo style.
This style was widely favoured by insurance companies and commercial institutions during the inter-war period.
The building is notable for its pioneering concealed panel heating system - the first of its kind in Australia. Innovative design elements of its era is reflected in its adjustable steel slatted sunblinds. This distinguished building is known for it's Renaissance Revival design, sandstone façade, and niche floor plates. Formerly the Australian Mutual Provident Society Headquarters, offering charm, natural light and views over Collins Street and Market Street.
